Algimantas Gaubas was born on 18th of June, 1955 in Siauliai district.
In 1978 he finished the Institute of Civil Engineering and acquired the speciality of engineer-mechanic for motorcars and auto-economy.
From 1978 till 1985 was the Head of Transport Department in Daugeliai Industrial Association of Structural Materials.
From 1985 till 1990 he was the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council of Lithuanian deputies of Kursenai town.
From 1990 till 1995 he was the Mayor of Kursenai town.
From 1995 till 2005 he was the Head of the General Department of Siauliai County Administration.
On 28th of January, 2005 he was elected the Mayor of Siauliai district Municipality.
